Meet Your Advocate
Hi ... Johanna here again! My professional background is in corporate IT where for 17 years, I was responsible for executing complex global programs. In my corporate career, I was responsible for communications across all levels of management, fostering a spirit of collaboration in working across departments, managing projects and programs of all sizes, and a penchant for out of the box thinking and problem solving. I left my corporate career in 2017 when the time constraints of managing the care of my daughter’s therapies, education, and services for her disabilities became too heavy to manage alongside my professional career. I feel so fortunate that our family was able to accommodate that and has allowed me to turn my pursuits toward the community volunteer work and special education advocacy that I am so passionate about.

My younger daughter was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder at the age of three, followed by ADHD and a Learning Disability diagnosis a few years later. Since then, I have dedicated countless hours to understanding special education laws and learning how to advocate effectively for her right to Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE). The world of Special Education can often feel overwhelming and complex. I'm here to help your family navigate this path and ensure your child receives the support they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. I would love to apply the leadership skills I developed in my corporate career— including collaboration, clear and concise communication, problem-solving, creative thinking, time management, negotiation, and conflict resolution— but perhaps most importantly, my mentorship and coaching expertise, to support your family on the special education journey. I look forward to partnering with you!

While Connecticut is my childhood home, I have lived in Massachusetts for the past 17 years with my husband and two daughters.
